Digital Ruins

Digital Ruins is a generative art collection created for Educated Guess. The collection investigates the nature of identity, place, and permanence in the digital lived experience. Using a general adversarial network to process nearly 1,000 Instagram posts and stories over 4 years, the output provides a latent understanding of the Educated Guess brand language. Through the collection, viewers capture an understanding of the aggregated essence of a brand’s experience.

Through a Piranesian conception of digital identity, the collection proposes an infinite assortment of icons, relics, and vestibules for recognizing a sense of place in the fabulated reality.
